May Celebrations...

Although this post is a bit overdue, better late than never, right?

In May, we celebrated a few big events. First, we took a trip to Fulton to celebrate Daniel's graduation from Westminster College. Congrats Daniel - we're so proud of you!

Next, we went back to the scene of the crime - Destin - to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary and to visit Bridget's parents!

We took a day trip to Seaside...

Lunch at Pompano Joe's...

We took an evening trip west down the Panhandle...

Fins up at Jimmy Buffett's resort in Panama City...

We spent a chilly day at Crab Island, where the only ones brave enough to enter the water were Brad, Brenda, and Pepper to try out the YOLO board...

After Crab Island, we warmed up with some oysters...

Happy 2 years...any many more!!

Of course, there was a big birthday celebration at the end of May, but stay tuned for a future post on how we celebrated Bob's birthday... Cheers!

Fins Up!

After 14 long years, Jimmy Buffett finally made it back to Kansas City. Although we preferred other artists back when he performed his last show at Sandstone (Bon Jovi? Bush? Yes, please!), we were thrilled to attend our second Jimmy Buffett show at the Sprint Center. Thankfully, we were blessed with beautiful weather for "tailgating" at Power and Light before the show.

We started out the day with cheeseburgers (in paradise?), mai tais, and beer. Notice Bridget's shirt purchased especially for the concert...she's a true Parrothead now!

Next, we hit up the souvenir tents and were amazed by the wide array of Margaritaville memorabilia and products. The branding obviously worked on us...

We spent most of the day people watching and were joined by our friend (and wannabe Parrothead - ha!), Mitch. We were amazed by the costumes and props - we're obviously amateurs compared to the other fans.

Although we didn't get to meet the man himself, we ran into some of his band members outside of the Sprint Center...

Finally, it was time for the show. Thanks for the great tickets, Bob! We had so much fun dancing and singing along (mostly out of tune...we have the video to prove it, but we thought we'd spare you the torture)!

Although not officially part of our Jimmy Buffett night, we were thrilled to meet our friends Mark, Terra, and Adalyn for lunch the next day. Here are a few pictures of us with Adalyn - she's the cutest little lady with a wonderful smile! It was the perfect way to cap off a great weekend!

To Wish Upon a Star - Prom 2011

In April, Brad and I got to attend our first prom together thanks to our friend, Courtney, and her fabulous theme party. She went all out, complete with a cheesy theme ("To Wish Upon a Star"), high school type drinks (Smirnoff Ice, beer bong, Mad Dog...although none of us drank back then because we were underage, of course!), and photo area (see the balloons and glitter below)! It was hilarious and an absolute blast! Prom is definitely a lot more fun when you're in your late 20s...you get to legally drink, you don't have to worry about all of the gossip about who will be queen and king, no curfews, no lame after prom gathering sponsored by the high school, etc.

Below are our official prom photos...

This is our parody of the typical prom photo - the guy looking nervous and overly excited, the girl looking a bit scared by her date...

Bryan and Courtney, the wonderful hosts...

We're looking forward to Prom 2012!

We're back...

After a long hiatus, we're back to blogging! We're looking forward to once again sharing our lives with you all. Hopefully we'll keep up with it in a more timely fashion this time.

Celebrating Thanksgiving in Destin with the Boggess family...

Pepper needed a cold one after his very first flight!

Celebrating the holidays with the Boggess family Christmas at Bristol, iceskating on the Plaza, Christmas Eve drinks at Skies, and New Year's Eve with friends (no Brad pictures from New Year's have been included on this blog so as to avoid embarrassment), and awesome seats to the last regular season Chiefs game thanks to Courtney and Bryan...

Daniel's visit to KC, including a Roasterie tour, lunch at Margarita's, the WWI museum, cocktails at Skies, and dinner at Lulu's...

We're looking forward to more memories (and posts) to come!
Love,
Brad, Bridget, and Sgt. Pepper
