Fins Up!

After 14 long years, Jimmy Buffett finally made it back to Kansas City. Although we preferred other artists back when he performed his last show at Sandstone (Bon Jovi? Bush? Yes, please!), we were thrilled to attend our second Jimmy Buffett show at the Sprint Center. Thankfully, we were blessed with beautiful weather for "tailgating" at Power and Light before the show.

We started out the day with cheeseburgers (in paradise?), mai tais, and beer. Notice Bridget's shirt purchased especially for the concert...she's a true Parrothead now!

Next, we hit up the souvenir tents and were amazed by the wide array of Margaritaville memorabilia and products. The branding obviously worked on us...

We spent most of the day people watching and were joined by our friend (and wannabe Parrothead - ha!), Mitch. We were amazed by the costumes and props - we're obviously amateurs compared to the other fans.

Although we didn't get to meet the man himself, we ran into some of his band members outside of the Sprint Center...

Finally, it was time for the show. Thanks for the great tickets, Bob! We had so much fun dancing and singing along (mostly out of tune...we have the video to prove it, but we thought we'd spare you the torture)!

Although not officially part of our Jimmy Buffett night, we were thrilled to meet our friends Mark, Terra, and Adalyn for lunch the next day. Here are a few pictures of us with Adalyn - she's the cutest little lady with a wonderful smile! It was the perfect way to cap off a great weekend!

To Wish Upon a Star - Prom 2011

In April, Brad and I got to attend our first prom together thanks to our friend, Courtney, and her fabulous theme party. She went all out, complete with a cheesy theme ("To Wish Upon a Star"), high school type drinks (Smirnoff Ice, beer bong, Mad Dog...although none of us drank back then because we were underage, of course!), and photo area (see the balloons and glitter below)! It was hilarious and an absolute blast! Prom is definitely a lot more fun when you're in your late 20s...you get to legally drink, you don't have to worry about all of the gossip about who will be queen and king, no curfews, no lame after prom gathering sponsored by the high school, etc.

Below are our official prom photos...

This is our parody of the typical prom photo - the guy looking nervous and overly excited, the girl looking a bit scared by her date...

We're looking forward to Prom 2012!
