Then, we got a lot of looks at his face from the front. In the first picture, his hand is by his ear, which is his talking-to-Mom-on-his-cell-phone look :) In the second one, he is using the placenta as a pillow.
We also got to see his arms, hands, feet, and legs. We got to see him moving his arms and legs quite a bit, which explains why Bridget has been feeling so many punches and kicks over the last few weeks. His arm and hand are in the first picture, and that's his little foot in the second one.
We were amazed at how many details the ultrasound can show, including the baby's kidneys, bladder, and stomach. Also, it was neat to see his strong little heartbeat. We were very relieved that everything looked to be in good order.
After our appointment, we were so excited to share the news with our family and friends. Brad tried to fool everyone with his pink and blue outfit...
Everyone was very surprised, although most of the predictions prior to the ultrasound were boy. With our families, we got a kick out of letting the pups make the announcement once again. This time, we released Pepper to indicate that he would be getting some company on the blue team :)
Now that we know we're having a boy, we've been imagining what he will look like, what his personality will be like, and all of the great things he will accomplish. One accomplishment that's high up on our list is for him to be a KU basketball player, so he's got a head start with these little kicks from the Boggess side of the family.
We had literally been counting down the days and hours to this appointment and it was an amazing experience! We are so excited to see what the next few months bring and we can't wait to meet our little guy in October. We will be at 20 weeks in our pregnancy on Monday, so we only have about halfway to go!
