This past weekend, we headed to Jefferson City for a diaper shower hosted by proud grandparents-to-be, Dan and Bev. As you can see, it was definitely a successful shower!
We raked in over 1,700 diapers and 1,100 wipes, plus some other fun items, including a diaper genie. We hear that this supply of diapers and wipes will last us a week or so after Baby T arrives :) Baby boy Thoenen even got some big boy underwear from his un-Cole - it gave us quite a laugh to open mens' underwear! We also got an adorable diaper cake thanks to our great friend, Jennae. The pups were confused by the fact that it's a cake that they cannot eat...
Thank you very much to Dan and Bev for hosting such a fun shower!
In other news, Bridget is 24 weeks into her pregnancy as of today. So far, so good!
She's been feeling great, other than some back pain at the end of the work day. It's nothing a bath, pampering from Brad, or an evening of laying around can't fix though :) We had a routine doctor's appointment last week and everything checked out great. The baby's been moving quite a bit, so many of our friends and family have had the pleasure of feeling his little kicks over the last month or so. We still can't believe that we're already 24 weeks through this pregnancy with only 16 to go. With only a few more months to go, we've kicked our preparation into high gear. We're scheduling classes to prepare for the birth and bringing the baby home, registering for all of the necessary items (other than diapers, of course), assembling the baby furniture, lecturing the dogs on how to be older siblings (kidding!), planning a little babymoon in August, and nesting, of course. We know that these weeks will fly by and we can't wait to meet our little man :)

Happy Three Years!
This post is a bit dated, but we wanted to share some pictures from our annual anniversary trip to Destin in May. This year, we were thrilled to celebrate with Bridget's family and our close friends, Marcus, Julia, Cole, and Jenny. As you can imagine, there was a lot of fun to be had, including Brad's first scuba diving trip with Marcus, Penny's first trip to the beach, Bridget's and Julia's scenic trip to Panama City, many "dance dares," lively games of Wise or Otherwise, a day at Crab Island, a crazy Chinese fire drill, and plenty of beach time and good food and drinks. Needless to say, we had a blast and feel very lucky to have celebrated our three years of marital bliss surrounded by so many people that we love! We're looking forward to heading back to Destin again soon, but this time with a little tyke :)
Road trip with the pups...
Fun in Seaside...

Penny's first trip to the beach! Pepper showed her exactly what to do by running straight into the water and swimming around - he really is his mother's son :) Penny wasn't so sure, but she seemed to enjoy it.
Penny took some swim lessons at the pool. Again, Pepper acted as the swimming coach!
Pepper was pooped after swimming and dealing with his little sister...
Relaxing on the beach...
Since the bump officially made its appearance just a week or so prior to the trip, there were a lot of "bump" photo ops, including this one before dinner.
Dinner and drinks at The Red Bar..
The official uniform for the night: black polos and khaki shorts!
Wine time at The Naked Grape...
Also, toasting to Ross's college graduation - congrats, Ross!
Bikini bump!!
Oysters after a long day at sea...
Dinner at Mitchell's Fish Market, the site of our rehearsal dinner, to celebrate our anniversary.
Beautiful sunset dinner in Seaside.
Toasting to a successful trip at the Naked Grape...
Poor Pepper bore the brunt of our boredom on the way home - he's a trooper :)

Toasting to our three year anniversary at Crab Island! Many thanks to Bob and Brenda for providing a fun day at Crab Island, complete with champagne! No worries...no alcohol was consumed by the pregnant lady :)

Painting Baby T's Room
We spent the weekend watching golf, celebrating Father's Day, and PAINTING! Ever since finding out that we're having a boy, we've been wanting to nest. So, we started this weekend in major way by revamping the room. Baby T's room will be the upstairs bedroom formerly known as "Brad's room." Here are the before pictures...
...and here are the after pictures. The theme for the room is nautical...obviously....

A BIG thanks to Brad and Brenda for doing all of the hard work - it looks amazing due to their skills and effort. Bridget and Bob spent the weekend "supervising," cooking, and relaxing. Pepper and Penny spent the weekend trying to get into the baby's room to help, but were denied entry until the end, in which they declared it their new room :)
Stay tuned for more pictures once we assemble the furniture in a few weeks and put the final touches on baby boy ________'s room prior to his arrival in approximately four months!!
